Just received this light. It comes with the option to use three AAA batteries or use a 18650 battery. I added the 18650 2500 mAh 3.7 rechargedable battery feature which is a sleeve to hold the battery.While I don’t have the ability to measure actual brightness or the lux output, I can say this is the brightest handheld small light I’ve operated. I would not want to view it from a close distance as it will surely be blinding, which for security defenses is good.I like the slightly larger size than other smaller led flashlight I have. I has a nice feel, seems well made. I also like the neon green on off button.The light field of view is adjustable by sliding in or out. Sliding it out, I liked the nice size of the front frame, it illuminates my backyard clearly. This same mode when lights up a 20×20 room nicely also. When zoomed to its tightest focus beam, it as expected is very bright. I wasn’t able to test how far it would illuminate something as there’s too much light in my area, but I’m confident it will be more than I’ll ever need.There is rubber neon o-rings sealing the battery compartment but not one on the front led lenses cap. I’ll be adding a little vaseline to both to keep to moisture out.. I’ve ordered two of these so far and they are excellent. The first has lasted two years and going. And I recently purchased a second to have on hand. The only downside is the beam is pretty wide. It’s plenty bright, but due to the spread it doesn’t project as far as others that I have thst allow you to focus the beam and different intensities.It’s very well made… 100% metal and has a crenulated bezel around the lens in the event you need to use it for defense..

You can either have a wide scope of coverage, or bring it down to a much smaller scope. Don’t know yet about battery life or water resistance, but so far it has come in handy and worked as expected. Really bright light too.. This flashlight is brighter than my old 18650-powered “tactical” flashlight. The case is well machined and accepted the battery I recharged after a few years in my old flashlight (first time recharged). I have not tested battery life specifically with this unit, but I expect it will last a LONG time based on experience. Likewise, I have not tested the water resistance, but the quality of the case machining makes me confident it will pass muster. My old flashlight, very similar but with a different brand name, failed at the solder joint to the positive contact to the battery. That first charge literally lasted years with occasional use around the house. This flashlight is small enough to carry in a jacket or pants pocket, and powerful enough to light things up hundreds of yards away. The adjustable beam can be spread out to give comfortable light to a nighttime walk for a whole group or people. The old flashlight was advertised at 1000 lumens where the Bluefire is advertised at 1200. Whatever the real lumen output (seems very high), the Bluefire 1200 is worth it in my opinion.. Pros* It’s probably a good window/windshield breaker if needed.Cons* $12.99 is a lot to pay for a window/windshield breaker.* Who wants a flashlight that CANNOT remember the last mode of operation used, especially since it would probably be the most frequent mode of use? This flashlight FORCES you to cycle through all five modes to get back to the one you last used when you turned it off. Why isn’t THAT noted in the product features listed or described? Probably because people wouldn’t buy this flashlight.* The head of the flashlight STILL rotates (like the zoom function common on many other brands), but it serves ZERO purpose. It really gives you less stable control over the actual zoom function on this flashlight, which is sliding the head away from the body to zoom in and back towards the body to zoom out.* The same button to turn on/off the flashlight also controls the five modes of operation. The “Only need to gently touch the tail button to change modes” statement is true, but the button is very sensitive. If you depress it even a little too hard just once, you must then try to carefully cycle through all modes to reach the desired mode again.* You MUST separately purchase the 18650 3.7v lithium battery to (hopefully) get the 1200 lumens (visible light) advertised. The approximate brightness you’ll achieve with 3 AAA batteries (you must also separately purchase) is 550 lumens.I’ll be going through the hassle of returning this one.
