The charging part seemed to work ok until part of the usb of the flashlight broke off inside my cord. I had to fight with it for a while to get it out and lucky there was no damage to then cord end. The charger pack of this light is now useless. The flashlight still works but the main reason for my purchase was the capability of being able to charge another device. All in all not to bad of a “light”.. I’ve purchased this light twice simply because it’s the best value for your money. When my first one broke from a high fall, I couldn’t find a better deal at the same high luminosity (maybe not 1000 lumens but still very bright) that was rechargeable, water resistant and with a focusable beam. This was the best budget bike light and served its use perfectly. I’ve since upgraded to a much more expensive light, but this did nearly as good a job at a fraction of the price and I would recommend it to anyone working within a budget for their bike light or for any other high lumen light use.. As someone here said already, the butt of the flashlight is a simple silicone flap that covers the USB connections (USB Micro & USB – A) and the switch button. The strobe is good for if you were on a boat calling for attention, but I think salt water might trash the poor thing. It feels good as if it’s built well, but the addition of a screw-on cap to the butt end with a gasket would be ideal for salt.
