I bought into this light for the features: small in size, swivel head, power modes, last mode recovery, magnetic base, and the magnetic charging features. Turns out these mask some flaws of the light itself. Small size and design cause it to have an odd size lithium cell battery which means not all that long of run time. The magnetic base/ charging port tends to attract metal objects and short the light if just in a pocket or loose in a portable tool box. It is also not sealed all that well on the charge port side and those that tend to hold lights in our mouth, saliva messes with the charging contacts as I would assume most chemical cleaners in a shop atmosphere would. Next the power button is not shielded so it is easily pressed when the light is in a pants pocket. Oh it comes with a pocket clip though…yes it does but it is about the same as attaching a clip to a roll of quarters midway down the roll and try to stabilize that in the opening of a pocket. When on, medium or high, the whole light tries to act as a heat sink for the LED. So when this thing accidentally turns on in pocket it gets warm almost too warm really fast.All these issues have caused me to keep this from my EDC rotation and it is now just a secondary light in my truck. It is a good little light, just not the solution to fill a whole in a multitasking EDC that I thought this could have been.

Light was pretty bright, but I didn’t like that it doesn’t light up a very wide area. The battery life on a full charge is really short.. I took it to go try to find my dog in the woods one night and it died leaving me in the pitch black dark, only before hearing about 20 coyotes way too close to me for comfort.. The pros: it IS bright, compact/fits in the palm of your hand (about the size of the handle grip of a 5lb dumbbell), the head swivels and it is rechargeable. It looks as bright as my husband’s tactical flashlight which is also 1000 lumens (to compare, a 60 watt light bulb is 800 lumens). With the YouTube videos and reviews, we thought this would be great.The con (for us): the magnet on the base of this flashlight is a serious joke. Straight out of the box, the magnet end of the flashlight would not stick to anything– not the wall (metal frame), water heater, bar bell weight plates, metal closet doors nor the fridge (and even the littlest magnet sticks to the fridge). It is just strong enough to hold the charger.I canceled the return because my husband wants to keep it. But if you need the magnet, I’d recommend you keep looking. Can’t attest to the battery life, but considering the magnet is crap, I wouldn’t hold my breath too much. My husband keeps a backup light in his tool bag..

The Torcy is one of my favorites because it clips on my hat and is great for electrical work where a headlamp would get uncomfortable all day. However, I was sadly disappointed in the SWYVEL. It is essentially the same light and uses the same clip, LED, button, and battery but has the addition of an adjustable angled piece. The problem is that this makes it noticeably heavier than the perfect Torchy, and it doesn’t stay clipped to my hat. In addition, the magnetic base seems to be weaker, so good luck getting it to stay stuck to anything vertical. The angle is a nice idea, but they need to beef up the magnet and clip to match the added weight in order for it to be a good light.One thing I will add is that if you don’t like paying $15 each for replacement batteries, you can use regular 16340 batteries with the addition of a small compression spring to take up the extra space at the bottom since the NEBO batteries have a protection board built in. That way, I can carry a clip of 3 spare batteries in my pocket and not worry about running out of juice.. I saw one of these in use on YouTube. I collect and work on arcade games, so a light that can be aimed and stuck to a metal surface is very handy. After having it for about 2 months I dropped it and it broke into pieces which made it virtually unusual when I contacted Amazon they said it had been too long and I can’t return it and when I contacted Nebo they said it was under warranty and I needed to pay for my return shipping and send it with the tracking number so I took it to my local shipper and they wanted almost $20 to ship it and it was only $27 for the light so I’m not very happy with the fact that I’m paying $47 for a $27 light and their warranty sucks if you have to pay for shipping it doesn’t make it worth even sending it back so I bought another brand which I’m very happy with and in my opinion the swivel idea is really stupid that’s exactly where it broke. So I wouldn’t waste my money on this especially if you drop things every once in awhile like most people do it won’t last trust me.. .
