Bought it to mount on my rifle so first thing I wanted to do was remove the pocket/belt clip. This is where the flashlight earns 3 stars. The top screw unscrewed just fine but then wouldn’t come out all the way. At some point it just kept turning but stayed in place. Then, the bottom screw is where it all goes wrong. It was in there really well and wouldn’t budge. I twisted harder and the screw started to strip instead of turning. It’s a philips style so I switched to a flathead to make use of the good part and that got stripped too. Now I’m left with a circle so I use a drill to remove the head and pull the clip off. It was then that I noticed residue between the clip and flashlight. It wasn’t locktight and it was hard so it wasn’t any kind of grease. I can only guess that they glued the clip to the flashlight and did god knows what to make the screw so tough to turn. Luckily, I don’t really care if the clip and screws are messed up because I’m mounting it. Have yet install a battery and test functionality. If all of that goes well, I’ll bump this up to a 4 star. If it goes poorly, then probably a 2 star. Will keep everyone posted.Update: the light quality is amazing. It’s really bright and doesn’t lose brightness quickly but that might be due to good batteries. Updated review to 4 star for light quality but one caveat is that I went back to order a second one and the original seller was already gone so I got the exact same flashlight from a different seller with a different name. Not sure if this review is even still viewable.
. When working right, this is the perfect flashlight for my use. It is bright, the perfect size, and single mode – just on and off. I don’t like the multi mode lights – too fiddly for me. My only problem is the tailcap / switch, as it is sometimes intermittent – seems like a loose connection. Mostly works fine with the occasional hiccup. Love the size and brightness, just slightly disappointed in the switch. I’m guessing mine is an aberration….
