I’d estimate this light at around 500 lumens give or take. My Energizer light is somewhere around 1200 lumens but it’s also close to 3x the price.I’m also surprised it has a zoom function because my Energizer light didn’t and I’m not used to lights with this design having a zoom feature. The energizer is more of a thrower with a more intense narrow beam. This light has a nice wide beam that’s not very bright but you can zoom in and it’ll become a narrow bright square beam though it’s not the cleanest beam. I did test the battery life with amazon basics nihm batteries and i got 4 hours out of it. After 30 minutes it starts to slowly dim and around the 2 hour mark it starts to significantly dim but it still chugs on for two more hours though you wont be looking at stuff thats at a distance with it by that point unless you zoom in all the way.Another huge plus is the fact that the batteries fit inside of a holder which may not seem like a big deal but my Energizer doesn’t it just has slots you put the AA’s into and then you twist the to closed to hold them in place and provide the connection. The problem with that is the fact that the AA’s are constantly rubbing against the solid metal connection and it will ruin your batteries with extended use. So I typically just use it in emergencies with alkalines.Don’t get me wrong there are much better lights with a slimmer design but if you want a nice little hefty light this is the one for you it feels very nice.Another huge plus is the fact that the flashlight doesn’t switch modes every time you turn it on unless you click on and off fast. I can’t stand cheap lights that make you cycle through the modes every time you use it. It only has a low high and strobe so its simple to use and the switch feels good. I’d prefer the strobe mode be accessed via a double tap or something though but it works fine because it auto turns on in high mode. My biggest complaint is the fact that it can’t tail stand because they made it curved and have the switch sticking out.Again though this isn’t some low profile light that clips right onto your belt or pocket. This is good for around the property or to keep in the vehicle. If you want a EDC light the largest I’d recommend is something like the wuben C3 which takes an 18650 replaceable battery, charges via USB C, and is around 1000 lumens plus it can tail stand which is nice. Heck I’d recommend you pick up both of the lights one for home one for EDC.

I would compare this to a good Maglite in power and quality, without being hard on the wallet. It’s almost as a sleek as a Maglite, but heavier. In my experience, it will illuminate objects for bright viewing over 2 acres away.If you just want a bright and well made flashlight out of the box that just works. This one fits the bill.That being said, I found the constant need to toggle modes a bit inefficient but it has a 20mm driver board which makes it prime for hobbiests.I really love this flashlight and it’s very well made for the money.. We like to have several flashlight around the house, particularly in hurricane season. I wanted to upgrade from the ones we have that use 3 AAA batteries. I ordered three different flashlights that use AA batteries. Of the three, I like this one the best. It uses 4 AA batteries and its LED is considerably brighter than our previous flashlight. I also like the fact that it has “only” three modes–high, low and strobe–so you don’t have to keep turning it off and on to get to the mode you want. I really can’t judge batter life at this point.
