I had this flashlight for only six months, recharging the battery only once. The next time went to use it and it was dead. I started to charge and noticed a burning odor coming from the unit. Upon opening the flashlight I found a definite smell of an electrical short. My guess is the rechargeable battery shorted out. I put in the standard battery holder with three AAA batteries and the flashlight lit, but these became very warm. THEN FLASHLIGHT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. SMELL OF FIRE.Wrote company and was sent a replacement, so appreciate that. Good so far. Not waterproof- description is not accurate.
