the battery life on this battery is pretty good I left it on for at least 2 hours and I had reached just about the end of the battery life. I wanted to test out how long you would last being left on. If you find that your flashlight is not recharging properly be sure to check the batteries and remove the plastic wrapping as this is what has happened with many people and they don’t realize that the problem is not the flashlight it’s that the batteries come with a plastic wrapping that does not allow it to charge properly. This flashlight feels nice in your hand you can adjust the light to a wide or narrow beam and it is very very bright and should suffice in any sort of situation even an emergency situation.. I purchased this flashlight took it out of the box opened the battery compartment. I took the batteries out and took the plastic protective covering off of each battery as it intructs to do placed them back in the flashlight and turned it on and right away it started smoking. I opened the battery compartment up and took the batteries out as smoke was still coming out of the battery slot. This unit was not safe and they didnt even have me return it because of the safety concerns. I hate to think what would of happened if I would have left it on a charger and walked away..
