I have now bought four of these lights. They are C8 style but have some major differences. They have glass lenses, I didn’t notice an AR coating but the glass is a good quality. The reflector is a good smooth coating on plastic. None of my lights had a blemish of any kind. The exterior coating in black and is uniform and the light comes with a typical lanyard. The led is a good quality GK and is some of the best I have seen from this manufacturer. Nice pure white on a XM die. I have kept one of the lights with a stock LED because I like the tint so much. The others I have changed to Nachi 219c, Samsung 351D and have a Cree XP HI V2 on order from Mountain. The lanyard loop is wide enough to slip over the barrel but small enough to be held in place once the tail cap is secured. This allows you to move the lanyard from the tail cap tO the barrel which then allows for perfect tail standing.Only perform these mods if you have experience and training. For minor mods you can bypass the resistors to double the output. I also recommend the pencil mod to the memory capacitor to remove the annoying next mode on power up feature. PWM was measured at 132 hz on medium mode. Output is around 500lm while drawing 2A after these mods and the LED performs best if driven at 2A or less.Now the bad news. The driver is 17 mm and is press fit into the aluminum pill and will have to be ground out. This will be necessary to upgrade the driver. The driver is a simple design and unregulated. There is also not much depth in the pill so I have ordered a 17FET with guppydrv R2 for my thrower mod.For assembly. The pill screws into the reflector housing and then the battery barrel can be screwed into the pill. Not a perfect host but at less than $7 a piece a good trade off. The tail cap is good quality, I have only tested to 3A. Gaskets are a silicone type and seal well. I wish the reflector was aluminum but I don’t think I will melt it If I keep power below 4A.Thank you Jardlite for making a good light available.

You know the drill – switching through bright, dark, flashing, SOS, etc modes that people don’t generally use and changing to the next mode every time you turn it on and off.Can’t they do something about this? Or are the flashlight makers unwilling to pay five cents for a good chip when there are plenty of bad two cent chips on the market.The zoom feature is too loose and won’t stay in place, but this is another universal problem with this type of flashlight. I picked a spot in the middle and used a little super glue to deal with this.No cheap flashlight should ever get more than four stars, but this one is otherwise decent enough to them..

Got this 4 pack of flashlights to replace old/dying ones around the house.Good basic flashlight. Ample brightness. Zoom bezel works, but not muchresistance in the movement of the bezel, so the zoom is sometimes tooeasily changed. I would not classify this as a purpose built tactical lightbecause of the zoom bezel. The focus of the beam needs to be consistent.Pulling this light out of a belt holster, or putting minimal pressure on thebezel will change it.But hey, for around the house, camping, or a glovebox light it’s adequate.Good value for money.. Good nice and bright probably just as bright as one of my more expensive flashlight I would say around 700/800 lumens. The only negative about this light is the fact that when you turn it off it does not stay on the same setting you turned it off on, so it switches to the next mode. But that’s the only negative thing I can say about it..

For an inexpensive LED light, this is a great deal. Why 4 stars? The beam focus from square to round and operates by sliding the head in and out. It’s not a tight fit and tends to slide too easily. The beam is not even, but is mostly useful or about 1/2 of the focus range. You will need the 18650 for the brightest light. It runs on a single 18650 battery or 3 AAA batteries. But you have 2 separate pieces to deal with. the 3- AAA batteries have a special holder. The 18650 has a special plastic tube. Choose one or the other and be prepared to promptly lose the one you didn’t choose to a junk draw or to some place where you store all those special little things you’ll never use, forget what they were for, or become obsolete and tossed away in 10 years. The price is right, so it’s good to buy. Toss them in places like your car, near the night stand, a pack, your kids room, a barn or shed, …. It would not be a good weapon or tactical light.. Sometimes you get what you expect from Amazon, sometimes you get less. Every once in a while – such as with this product – you are surprised to receive more than expected. This is a great and innovative take on a simple flashlight. Brighter than expected, with a great variety of functions that make it ultra-usable.
