The only reason I didn’t rate this a 5 is because I’m not really happy with the placement of the on/off button. The on/off button is a little hard to find if it’s really dark simply because they’ve made it low profile, which that’s not a bad thing really and it is able to felt, it’s just a bit more difficult, especially if it’s needed very quickly. I think having the button on the butt of the flashlight would be a great improvement. When the flashlight is on there are lights (the battery strength indicator) that not only tells you the battery strength but they are right by the on/off switch, so it’s really easy to find it then . A few times now I’ve had a problem with it not coming on when I press the button, though that’s been rare so far and it could be user error. It’s something I’ll keep monitoring and if it gets worse I’ll definitely return it due to that. Overall though I’m really happy with it. It is very bright, and I love how much area is lit up in the wide angle mode. I really like how to change the focus of the light (pushing out or pulling in the lens cover) as it’s very easy to do, even with one hand if needed. It feels very sturdy and durable also. If needed I’d buy it again – especially if they change where the on/off switch is :-). First, it’s fairly easy to charge, although their directions leave something to be desired. That said, the beam is awesome. In the tight mode, the narrow beam reaches well over their suggested distances. I’ve used it when trying to rescue abandoned dogs in the desert at night, I’ve used it to check my fairly large yard – let’s me stand on my back patio and easily see everything. I’ve tried several other models and makes that say they are the lumens equal to this and have the beam and ease of operation like this, but they didn’t come close. Extremely easy to use, powerful beam, and not overly heavy given its size..
