it worked great for a little over a year, then STOPPED WORKING, when depressing the on off button the light would flicker and go off, the battery light says charged. update apparently the cheap CHINESE battery failed and was not accepting the charge/holding it, replaced battery and working great again.. Unfortunately I only was able to use this flashlight a few times before the switch began acting up and it wouldn’t turn on or stay on but a second. My biggest complaint is the fact that it can’t tail stand because they made it curved and have the switch sticking out.Again though this isn’t some low profile light that clips right onto your belt or pocket. If you want a EDC light the largest I’d recommend is something like the wuben C3 which takes an 18650 replaceable battery, charges via USB C, and is around 1000 lumens plus it can tail stand which is nice. This one fits the bill.That being said, I found the constant need to toggle modes a bit inefficient but it has a 20mm driver board which makes it prime for hobbiests.I really love this flashlight and it’s very well made for the money.. We like to have several flashlight around the house, particularly in hurricane season. I wanted to upgrade from the ones we have that use 3 AAA batteries. I ordered three different flashlights that use AA batteries. Of the three, I like this one the best. It uses 4 AA batteries and its LED is considerably brighter than our previous flashlight. That said on it’s widest pattern it is like a floodlight and is ample for most uses. It is actually too bright on high for inside use unless you shine it on the ceiling. The flashlight is great when it works. Bright. However, I could not get the flashlight to stay on…a little shake and it turns off. Not dependable. I decided to try to figure it out… I had to rig something to make it work better…I made the battery holder a bit taller…put in a little ball of aluminum foil and 3 copper pennies to put pressure on the battery so it could make better contact at the ‘led’ end of the flashlight… and it worked…the battery was not making contact properly inside the flashlight… but it still flickers a bit..but now stays on. Just going to be a hassle putting in a battery replacement. I didn’t realize the light didn’t work until after my return window closed… but this flashlight is defective for sure and the company should send me a replacement. Maybe they will read this review. I am sure they have had similar issues and complaints with this flashlight. Maybe some of them work…mine didn’t.. flashlight great, bright, you can focus from flood to spot. The batteries that come with it are garbage, state 2200 mah on them, test at 1000. I have a feeling these are the cause of the the defective light reviews. These batteries cannot supply enough amperage to the light on high without voltage sag and that triggers light to turn off. If you see only a brief flash when you turn it on, then nothing – thats the sign of the batteries dipping below safe voltage. I had some Liitokala 26650s, and have zero issues in the xhp90 and xhp70 versions of this light. However, if you have to buy good batteries, sort of defeats the point of ordering on amazon rather than cheap stuff from China sites that also have the flashlight. Battery quality is why I gave this 3 instead of five stars..

I looked at reviews of the 5 for $24, The Skywolfeye B12’s Claim at 500 lumen; not close to that but reviews mentioned a bit brighter then stream light, I would say 100 lumens. white light compared to cool white on stream light. I gave them 4 starts because of battery life. I put new Energizer Alcaline batteries in both my stream light and one of these. The B12 lasted 1 hour and light was out. The stream light was on for 2 hours and I shut it off. Don’t know how long it would of stayed on. I used one of these B12’s for a week in my normal usage as a mechanic with one set of batteries. My shop supplies batteries, so right now I can live with them. I did one more test; I dropped one twice from 4 feet to concrete floor and still worked. It still would take a lot of batteries to get to stream light price. Big thing is how long will they last? Usually a streamlight will get 1 year and some times more. But I had a couple fail in less then 6 months too.. He let me know that the cooling system on the MS12 on turbo simply cannot keep up and the entire flaslight becomes too hot to touch without using leather gloves. He also let me know that the cooling system on his MS18 on turbo is greatly improved and keeps the flashlight at a tolerable temperature. I have owned many handheld spotlights and flashlights over the years so I have some experience with them. This unit seems to function as advertised but the main lamp is not as bright as I had hoped. I have not used it for extended periods so I cannot review battery life. Both the main beam and the side light activation buttons are on the trigger area. We live in a rural area, with lots of woods around us. I have always had a go-to bright light for any nocturnal outside happening, from trouble (something getting into the sheep), to fun (watching screech owls feed their nestlings). I have had a halogen lamp for years, have replaced the bulb and battery several times but when it recently failed to recharge, I decided to upgrade to a more modern light. I was a bit concerned that this wouldn’t be as bright but I have not been disappointed. I have had this now for several months and I can tell you is is super bright (excellent distance), lightweight, battery seems to last quite a while, easily recharges (both by the included charger or by a standard USB connection), and has a tripod mount. I haven’t yet used the mount but I could imagine if you were working on something in the dark mounting this would be convenient. I think this is a great light and I recommend!.
