I bought this flashlight a few weeks back and honestly, it’s a pretty good flashlight for it’s size. I’ve turned the clip around and attached it to my cap when I need both hands for working. Since it worked great for me, we bought 8 of them to give as gifts. Out of 8 of them, one didn’t perform as great as the rest. The light was dimmer than the rest by far (see picture). I used the same battery on all and put a new battery in the dimmer one for comparison. If I bought only one flashlight and received the defective flashlight, I would have been pretty disappointed because I have this weird obsession with flashlight and knives. Lol. I would have known if it was either defective or false advertisement. Reason I gave 4 stars (quantity/quality). If I had received the dimmed flashlight only, then it would have been a 1 star review.. This little Hatori light is pretty cool. It is bright and decent quality, especially for about 8 bucks. It has an expensive feel with a button switch that works easily. You can actually hold the light between 2 fingers and click it on/off with your thumb – something you can NOT do with the $18 Streamlight 66318 MicroStream. The Hatori pocket clip and anodized aluminum are way better quality too. I can remove and replace the pocket clip without scratching off the anodizing which you can NOT do with the MicroStream. Like the MicroStream, it is just a simple light without all the unnecessary modes. And the Hatori is brighter than the MicroStream which is rated at 45 lumens.There is no way it is close to 500 lumens though. My old Streamlight Protac 2AA is rated at 250 lumens and is way brighter than this little Hatori flashlight, so I’d put it at about 60 lumens tops. (I don’t “inflate” lumens values like LED manufacturers appear to be doing more and more.) If it weren’t for that I’d give it 5 stars. Great bang for the buck..

They seem to be well sealed against moisture and come with extra O ring. I am not sure but you might be able to turn it on after 10-15 seconds of sitting and it might be that it comes back on full power frome any setting. I have had them for 5 days and have learned that they may be better than I thought. It is Outlite’s fault for not including instructions. I am bad, I did not look through the bubble envelopes for the flashlights and the battery tubes for 18650 batteries. In my defense they instructions were printed in such small type as to require a microscope to read them.. They are bright, they have a good heft and solid feel. You adjust the focus not by twisting the end but simply sliding it back & forth which is easier & faster and so far it stays where I want it fine, can go from very wide to a tiny little square. The 3 brightness levels are great, the brightest being super bright and the dimmest generally more than sufficient , batteries seem to be holding up well 2 months later.The main drawback is cycling through the modes. Mine seem to always turn on at the Medium brightness but I didn’t realize that at first & was always checking to see what I was on by cycling thru. To change you half-press the power button, but like if I want it brightest I turn it on, then half press to go to Low, then again for Strobe, then again for SOS, then again for High. That’s pretty annoying, plus Strobe/SOS are features you’re hopefully never going to need to use so it’s kind of annoying having to always be cycling thru them in normal daily use. Not sure what the ideal cost-effective solution would be to keeping the extra modes while fixing the problem of way too many button presses & not knowing for sure which mode you’re on, but those are my only issues with it so far, very happy with the purchase for the price.. If you use turbo mode for 30 seconds the flashlight becomes way too hot to hold in your hand (even gloves start to smell). It’s supposed to reset after a minute at 25,000 lumens then drop to 4,000 lumens. I never got that far as I was worried it would start to “cook” the batteries, and you DON’T want overheated Li-Ion. For a 4000 lm flashlight it’s wonderful. Very wide beam as I alluded to before so pretty much everything in front of you is visible. Because it’s so floody it won’t have much throw or reach compared to flashlights 1/4 it’s power.
