For the price you can’t go wrong with this flashlight. It’s exceptionally bright & has a very distinct cool look to it. One of the area’s it asked me to rate was it’s “Light Weight”, which I declined to rate because it’s heavyness & feel in the palm of your hand for a less than $20 flashlight I think is one of it’s best traits. Over all I would buy this light again. My only critique is that it would have been better if all three lights were the same LED as the center light, because as they are currently it actually takes away from the overall brightness when all three lights are illuminated, dimming the brightest center light to share power between all three. The led is a good quality GK and is some of the best I have seen from this manufacturer. Nice pure white on a XM die. I have kept one of the lights with a stock LED because I like the tint so much. The others I have changed to Nachi 219c, Samsung 351D and have a Cree XP HI V2 on order from Mountain. The lanyard loop is wide enough to slip over the barrel but small enough to be held in place once the tail cap is secured. This allows you to move the lanyard from the tail cap tO the barrel which then allows for perfect tail standing.Only perform these mods if you have experience and training. For minor mods you can bypass the resistors to double the output. I also recommend the pencil mod to the memory capacitor to remove the annoying next mode on power up feature. Got this 4 pack of flashlights to replace old/dying ones around the house.Good basic flashlight. Ample brightness. Zoom bezel works, but not muchresistance in the movement of the bezel, so the zoom is sometimes tooeasily changed. I would not classify this as a purpose built tactical lightbecause of the zoom bezel. The focus of the beam needs to be consistent.Pulling this light out of a belt holster, or putting minimal pressure on thebezel will change it.But hey, for around the house, camping, or a glovebox light it’s adequate.Good value for money.. Good nice and bright probably just as bright as one of my more expensive flashlight I would say around 700/800 lumens. The only negative about this light is the fact that when you turn it off it does not stay on the same setting you turned it off on, so it switches to the next mode. But that’s the only negative thing I can say about it..

Choose one or the other and be prepared to promptly lose the one you didn’t choose to a junk draw or to some place where you store all those special little things you’ll never use, forget what they were for, or become obsolete and tossed away in 10 years. The 18650 batteries are quite affordable as well, and will replace 3 AA batteries..I bought 4 of these and have 2 in the house, one in the car, one in the M/C… Excellent flashlights. I have one with triple aaa’s installed and one with an 18350(?) rechargeable battery, there is a noticeable brightness difference, spring for the big batteries if you can. Adjustable beam control is excellent, SOS mode, and strobe mode, careful if you use around someone susceptible to that effect..

I got the lithium battery pack for them, cheap price, so I don’t know how well they work with the triple A’s, but they shine far across to the neighboring block. After 4 hours flashlight 2 with 2600 mah battery went into low battery mode and had 2.72 VDC. This leads me to believe the batteries that come with these are around 1200-1300 mah capacity based off the 2 hour runtime vs a 2600 mah battery with 4 hour runtime. I’ll be replacing the batteries with higher capacity cells..

I am a lifetime Surefire flashlight, weapon light and numerous accessories owner. The item lists Defender Ultra and I received a Defender Tactical which has a less focused and dimmer beam. I compared the light output to my two other Ultras and the difference is easy to see. I am hoping this was just a packing error. This in no way reflects on Surefire, who makes the absolute best, hardened and always there when you need it products.. I am a fan of SureFire lights and routinely carry one. This is the second Defender I have owned. The first one was purchased years ago and has been replaced by this model. This light is a bit larger than the previous one but is easier to handle. I like the LED bulb instead of the previous design and it carries easily in the pocket. I am a trained martial artist and know how to use a pocket stick in self-defense, but frankly, the light on this is more than sufficient to dazzle an opponent so it probably would never be needed as an impact tool..

It’s a pretty bright light I’ll give it that. But the UI is mediocre at best. It could’ve been much better and on top of that the button seems to not work every 15-20 clicks. Not sure why but it happened to be like that straight out the box. I don’t think it’s faulty though I think it’s just an error in the way its designed. It did come with an average finish too. Some nicks and bare spots but it’ll make do I’m used to it when it comes to Nebo lights. The pocket clip is deep which is nice but the clip comes off very easily so I wouldn’t trust it clipped to a belt or else you may go to grab for it and notice just a clip left. It’ll clip to a hat nicely though which is mainly what it’s for and pockets. I just would’ve liked it to stay attached to the flashlight with more grip. I would’ve given it 4 stars but with the button issues I bumped it to 3. Also it has a more warm color versus white which works with this light.Another issue with this light is the battery indicator. Once you use turbo it stays red instead of returning to blue once turbo is over so you have to turn the light on and off to get a proper battery indicatorI’m getting 30 min on high before it gets to 25% battery life it also seems to dim during use. It’s a nice little light though and doesn’t really get warm.I really do like this light though I just wish it had a firefly mode and a lockout..
